WHAT IS THE MAGIC OF REAL SUCCESS, PART 2
JULY 29, 2006. On August 14, 21, and 28, I?ll be doing my newest telephone workshop. It?s called DESIRE, MANIFESTATION, AND FULFILLMENT. It will contain brand new and even more powerful manifestation exercises. You can sign up for the workshop by clicking on the link above. The sign-ups are accelerating. You still have time to get in on the live calls, and you?ll also automatically get either CDs or mp3 files of the entire event.
I?ve had many comments on an article I wrote a week ago, WHAT IS THE MAGIC REAL OF SUCCESS? So I?m reposting it below, and adding some new material right here.
One of the favorite excuses people use to explain a lack of a success is: ?If it didn?t happen, it wasn?t meant to be.? Another version of the same thing is: ?If it?s supposed to happen, it will.?
It?s interesting to look at what these excuses really mean. I would translate them both this way: The universe decides what we get and what we don?t get; the universe deals the cards, we play them; the universe is the ultimate monitor and creator of what we receive; all our hopes and dreams and efforts pass through the universe, and IT makes all the judgment calls; the universe knows what we need and what we are ready for, and it dispenses the goodies to us and holds back other goodies.
This whole picture, of course, is backwards. We create. We manifest. We bring our desires into being.
But there is some truth in these excuses, if we put them in the right perspective. When we create (manifest) what we want with power, the universe complies. The universe is, in a sense, the freight train that brings what we want to our doorstep. The universe re-arranges itself around our powerfully manifested desires and delivers them to us.
To use another image, the universe is the telephone switchboard that directs our calls (manifestations) so they arrive back where we are---only we get the realization of what we desire. We get the ?finished goods.?
People make excuses for not getting what they want, but the more important factor is: why don?t people get what they want?
Here is why they don?t:
*They don?t create it out of their imaginations.
*They don?t create it with sufficient power.
*They don?t understand how to create it.
In my workshops, including the one coming up in two weeks, I offer very specific exercises you do on daily basis. In these exercises, you DO create what you want out of your imagination. You DO create what you want with sufficient power. You DO understand how to create it.
Therefore, you do get what you want. The universe does re-arrange itself to give you what you want. The universe complies.
And that is, by any measure, real magic.
Today (July 22), I was recording a group of podcast segments that will be going out to directories next week. (They are now posted on these directories. You can, for example, find them at itunes.) While I was sitting here in my office laying down the tracks, it occurred to me that there is tremendous confusion out in the world about where CREATION comes from.
This confusion is buried deep under more familiar questions like: what happens after we die; how did the universe come into being; who really runs the world; what is the future of souls?
This primary question, WHERE DOES CREATION COME FROM, is covered over with all sorts of religious imagery and baggage. When you delve into brands of fundamentalism, you?ll even find assertions that humans do not or should not create at all; it must all come from God.
This is called A DIVERSION.
I?d like to see people try to stop creating. It?s impossible.
People want to avoid this primary question about creation, because they would prefer to think that they are not at the center of their own lives. They?d rather have someone to blame when things go wrong.
But blame is beside the point. Blame is no longer an issue of any kind, once you move up to a place where you are creating with power. Then it?s just a question of how well you can manifest what you truly want. And even that can be broken down further. How well you manifest what you want depends on the consistent action of doing it! In other words, like playing the piano or becoming a compelling public speaker, it takes practice.
That?s why I design manifestation exercises. That?s why I keep researching. I present specific exercises so people can practice them every day. It?s like learning to use a part of the body that has been out of use for a long time.
Except, in this case, we are talking about imagination and its power. The Big One.
Here is a key you should remember. When people experience hard times, they tend to pull in their antennas. They tend to draw back from their inherent power. They tend to think smaller and plan smaller and shrink their ambitions. THIS DOES NOT WORK.
Hard times are the times to bring MORE power to the scene. More creativity. More inner resources. More imagination. More follow-through.
When you learn this lesson, you also learn what to do when times are very good: THE SAME THING. Project power. Create with more force. Manifest more intensely.
There is a great myth that floats around the industrialized countries. It goes like this: ?If I could make enough money, I?d stop working and just enjoy life.? I call this the Tropical Island Syndrome. People think they?d lounge on a beach for years and sip rum and lie in a hammock and eat lobster?
It doesn?t work that way. Sooner or later, you?d get terminally bored. You?d get restless. You wouldn?t know what to do with yourself. You?d run out of steam and go downhill.
The Tropical Island Syndrome stems from a condition in which the person doesn?t locate true desire within himself. He doesn?t find the kind of desire that gets him up out of bed in the morning with blue electric energy flowing through his system.
If he had found that kind of desire, a tropical island would not even be in his thoughts; he?d be ecstatic about what he was doing to manifest that desire. That would be the real island.
So I design exercises that both help a person to uncover true desire and manifest that desire as Reality.
This is what I put in your hands. This is what you can really use. This, under the surface, is what all people want.
Everything else is a stall, a postponement.
Throughout history, various spiritual and religious systems have promised an ultimate state of consciousness or reward, and people latch on to these systems---and then somewhere along the line begin to hope that this reward will just float in from somewhere like a gift. In other words, no further effort necessary.
This, in one form or another, is what many people want: something for nothing.
In fact---and I find this very amusing---there are people who view the art and skill of manifestation as an empty fantasy, because they think manifestation is an attempt to avoid actual work.
Nothing could be further from the truth. To do effective manifestation, you need to practice on a daily basis. It?s an ACTIVE art. It takes energy. THEN the benefits arrive.
Creation, at its core---as I have mentioned many times---is making something from nothing.
Something from nothing is a whole different animal than something FOR nothing.
If Rembrandt had sat in front of a blank canvas and waited for the painting to fly in and deposit itself on the flat surface, he would have gotten nowhere.
We are faced with a golden opportunity. We still have the freedom to become extremely proficient in the art of manifestation. This practice will stand us in good stead FOREVER.
We live in a culture where the promised instant fix and the promised instant gratification are King. We begin to think that everything we want should come to us immediately, if not sooner. And if what we desire doesn?t show up in five minutes, we think we are on the wrong track, and we turn away and say it?s time to do something else.
Here is it how it plays out. People believe and understand that, in every area of life, they need to work hard and consistently and intelligently if they want success. They know this. But then when they learn there is something called manifestation, which comes out of the power of the imagination, they want to believe that THIS will just float in after a few minutes and they will have their tropical island. They want to believe that if the tropical island doesn?t arrive after five minutes, they should give up and go elsewhere to get some instant gratification.
My, my. After who knows how many centuries and eons of the soul slowly abandoning its great power to create realities and futures, the same soul---conditioned by the culture it lives in---suddenly wants all that creative power to return in ten seconds, full-bore.
So we get books like THE ONE-MINUTE BILLIONAIRE. THIRTY SECONDS TO PERFECT HEALTH. OWN YOUR OWN KINGDOM INSTANTLY. HOW TO WIN THE LOTTERY. BUY HALF OF POLAND WITH NO MONEY DOWN.
Creating what you truly desire (manifestation) is work. The wonderful thing is, there are payoffs all the way along the line, right from the beginning. You feel better. You feel more alive. You are more centered. You are experiencing awakenings on many levels. And you are taking destiny into your own hands.
Isn?t taking destiny into your own hands what is so enchanting about TV shows and movies? The hero steps up to the plate. The hero sizes up the situation and makes his moves. He overcomes odds. He finds clever strategies. He?s at the helm of a crisis and he resolves it. He wins. He shapes the future.
Well, manifestation is that way, too. Only it isn?t TV or the movies. IT?S REAL.
Marvelously, wonderfully real.
